A place to put the stuff I make.

I’m Austin. I’m Colorado-based, curious about a lot of things, and I tend to follow creative ideas wherever they lead, often long enough to actually finish them.

A lot of what I make comes from wanting to hold onto and share the parts of life that I find beautiful. A gorgeous place, a ridiculous moment, a person I love, a thought I don't want to lose. I like looking at the world with curiosity, optimism, and a sober eye, then figuring out what I want to make from it. Voz Captures is where I put the results. Travel stories, photographs, journal essays, books, designs built from photos, half-baked ideas that turn into something bigger, and whatever else sounds fun.

Photography started because I wanted something fun to do while I was walking my dog, Sam. I started taking pictures, people seemed to like them, and I started wondering what else I could do with a camera. Before long it had become another excuse to get outside, wander somewhere new, or voluntarily wake up for a sunrise, which was not previously a thing I was known to do.

Writing usually starts because something has been bouncing around in my head long enough that I need somewhere else to put it. Sometimes it's a place I want to remember. Sometimes it's something I'm trying to understand. Sometimes I just think a story is funny and want someone else to hear it.

Mostly, I like making things. This is where they get to end up.
